PROGRAMME OF EVENTS

SATURDAY 27th MAY

At 9 p.m. In the Capitol Theatre of Rojales, OPENING SPEECH, PRESENTATION AND CORONATION OF THE QUEENS OF FIESTAS ROJALES 2017.

(At 8:45 p.m. The Queens of Fiestas 2016 and the 2017 candidates will file from the Town Hall towards the Capitol Theatre)

SUNDAY 28th MAY

At 11:30 a.m. In the Cultural Centre of Ciudad Quesada, audition of the pupils of the “Ars Saxofón" workshop.

At 12 noon in the Rodeo Caves, 7th series of poetic recitals.

At 6 p.m. In the Rodeo Caves, the Young Band “La Lira" of Rojales in concert.

At 8 p.m. In the Capitol Theatre of Rojales, End of the Year's Festival of the Municipal Drama School “Alberto González Vergel" of Rojales. Performance by the adult group directed by Enrique Gabidia.

SATURDAY 3rd JUNE

At 8 p.m. In the Capitol Theatre of Rojales, live musical tribute to Rocía Durcal, with a Mariachi band.

SUNDAY 4th JUNE

At 12 noon, in the Rodeo Caves, Arts and Crafts Meeting with concerts and workshops.

FRIDAY 9th JUNE

At 8:30 p.m. In the Capitol Theatre, End of the Year's Festival of the Municipal Drama School “Alberto González Vergel" of Rojales. Performances by the adult group and the young people's group directed by May Joya.

SATURDAY 10th JUNE

At 7:30 p.m. On the “Malecón del Soto" promenade “SPORT IN THE STREET" (Yoga, therapeutic gymnastics and zumba). Organised by the Department for Sports of Rojales Town Hall.

At 9 p.m. Bingo on the Church Square, organised by the brotherhood “Virgen del Rosario". Everybody interested has the opportunity to have dinner at the bar installed by the brotherhood. Before the end, the Town Council will provide delicious ice creams to all those present.

SUNDAY 11th JUNE

At 8 p.m. In the Capitol Theatre, End of the Year's 2016/2017 Festival of the Municipal School of Dancing directed by Isabel Avellaneda and Begoña López.

TUESDAY 13th JUNE

At 8 p.m. In the Capitol Theatre, Graduation Ceremony of the Year 2016/2017 of “La Encantá" High School of Rojales.

WEDNESDAY 14th JUNE

At 8 p.m. In the Capitol Theatre, second part of the Graduation Ceremony of the Year 2016/2017 of “La Encantá" High School of Rojales.

THURSDAY 15th JUNE

At 12 noon, Onda Cero Radio Station broadcasting live from the Indoors Market of Rojales.

At 8 p.m. In the Municipal Sports Hall, End of the Year's Festival of the Rhythmic Gymnastics Municipal School of Rojales.

At 9 p.m. On the Malecón del Soto promenade, audition of the the Music Band “Santa Cecilia" of Rojales.

FRIDAY 16th JUNE

At 6 p.m. Erection of the Hoguera 2017 “EXTRATERRESTRIAL INVASION".

At 7:30 p.m. In the Capitol Theatre Graduation Ceremony of the Year 2016/2017 of the pupils of 6th grade primary to secondary.

SATURDAY 17th JUNE

At 3:30 p.m. In the firing range of Rojales, GUN SHOOTING “SAN PEDRO" COMPETITION. Organised by the Olympic Shooting Club of Rojales in collaboration with Rojales Town Hall.

At 9 p.m. In the Capitol Theatre, presentation of Sultans and Flag Bearers 2017, organised by the Central Committee of Moors and Christians in collaboration with Rojales Town Council.Following the presentation, supper and dancing at the Benakíes Kábila.

SUNDAY 18th JUNE

At 9 a.m. In the firing range of Rojales, GUN SHOOTING “SAN PEDRO" COMPETITION. Organised by the Olympic Shooting Club of Rojales in collaboration with Rojales Town Hall.

At 12:15 p.m. Chupinazo parade from the Chemist's La Pasarela to Plaza de España.

At 12:30 p.m. On the Plaza de España, the Fiestas start with “El Chupinazo". A rocket will be launched and will herald the beginning of our festivities 2017. Do not forget to bring your swimsuit.

At 1:30 p.m. Grand “Mascletá" (noisy fireworks) in the “Malecón del Soto" promenade by Pirotecnia Ferrández from Redován.

At 8 p.m. CORPUS CHRISTI Procession.

TUESDAY 20th JUNE

At 10 p.m. Correfoc (Fire-Run) that will start at Plaza de España and will terminate by the Hoguera 2017.

At 11 p.m. Preliminary ceremony before the burning of the Hoguera 2017 “EXTRATERRESTRIAL INVASION".

WEDNESDAY 21st JUNE

At 9 p.m. In the Capitol Theatre, End of the Year's Festival of the Sofía Sánchez School of Dancing.

THURSDAY 22nd JUNE

At 9 p.m. In the Capitol Theatre, End of the Year's Festival of the Sofía Sánchez School of Dancing. Second performance.

FRIDAY 23rd JUNE

At 8 p.m. In the Capitol Theatre, presentation of the Association “Leyenda de la Encantá de Rojales".

At 10 p.m. Ascent of the "Cabezo Soler" Hill. “La Encantá" Magical Night. Organised by the Department for Youth of Rojales Town Hall. Starting point: Opposite Mercadona Rojales (Torch recommended).

SATURDAY 24th JUNE

At 11 a.m. In the Capitol Theatre, End of the Year's 2016/2017 Festival of the Municipal Nursery School “Los Pasos".

At 8 p.m. Flower offerings in honour of San Pedro. Departure from Rojales Health Centre. In the following order: Contrabandistas, Almohades, Bereberes, Tuareg, Guerreros del Cid, Piratas, Benakíes, Sultans and Flag Bearers. Attendance by the authorities and Queens of Fiestas.

At 11 p.m. In the “Malecón del Soto" promenade, popular open-air dance by the Band “Etiqueta Show".

WEDENESDAY 28th JUNE

At 8 p.m. Marksmen from the different Moors and Christians Associations will begin shooting from the Malecón del Soto promenade.

At 9 p.m. Gunpowder Battle, speeches and the taking of the castle on the Malecón del Soto promenade. Once the event is over, dancing in the various Kábilas.

THURSDAY 29th JUNE

FESTIVITY OF “SAN PEDRO APOSTOL", patron saint of Rojales Giants and large heads parading round the streets all day, accompanied by the dulzaina (little clarinet) and drum.

At 9 a.m. The Band of “La Lira" parading round the streets. On its route, tribute to senior citizens organised by the moors association “Almohades". All the Moors and Christians Associations and individuals are invited to take part.

At 11 a.m. On the “Malecón del Soto" promenade Water Gymkhana. Bring your swimwear.

At 8 p.m. Holy Mass in honour of our Patron Saint San Pedro, attended by the Authorities, Queens of Fiestas, Sultans and Flag Bearers.

At 9 p.m. Solemn procession in honour of our Patron Saint San Pedro. At the end of the procession, a magnificent firework display will be given by Pirotecnia Ferrández from Redován. Once the event is over, dancing in the various Kábilas.

FRIDAY 30th JUNE

At 10:30 p.m. CHARANGA (Summer Carnival Parade) with the participation of all the Moors and Christians Associations. They will parade in the following order: Contrabandistas, Almohades, Bereberes, Tuareg, Piratas, Benakíes and Guerreros del Cid. Once the parade is over, dancing in the various Kábilas.

SATURDAY 1st JULY

At 9 p.m. GRAND PARADE OF MOORS AND CHRISTIANS. They will parade in the following order: Moors: Benakíes (Sultans), Almohades, Bereberes and Tuareg. Christians: Contrabandistas, Guerreros del Cid and Piratas. Once the parade is over, dancing in the various Kábilas.

SUNDAY 2nd JULY

At 8 p.m. PARADE OF THE BANDS.

At 9 p.m. GRAND PARADE OF MOORS AND CHRISTIANS. They will parade in the following order: Christians: Contrabandistas, Guerreros del Cid and Piratas. Moors: Almohades, Bereberes, Tuareg and Benakíes (Sultans) The floats of the Queens of Fiestas will close the parade. Following this, dancing in the various Kábilas.

MONDAY 3rd JULY

At 9 p.m. In the Municipal Sports Centre, beginning of the 33rd Five-a-side football Championship “Villa de Rojales", organised by the Department for Sports of Rojales Town Hall.

FRIDAY 7th, SATURDAY 8th , SUNDAY 9th JULY

At 10 p.m. In the Rodeo Caves, Short Movie Film Festival “THE RODEO FILM FEST".

SATURDAY 8th JULY

At 8 p.m. In the Rodeo Caves, Arts and Crafts Meeting with the opening of an exhibition in the Megolero's Exhibition Hall.

SATURDAY 15th JULY

At 7 p.m. In the sports facilities of the Petanque Club of Rojales, the COMPETITION “12 HOURS OF PETANQUE". Organised by the Petanque Club of Rojales in collaboration with Rojales Town Hall.
