Mercedes Landa, councillor for the beaches in Santa Pola, officially opened this new canine facility on Sunday the first of May. The council has been installing amenities such as new car parking and information boards, as well as at least 10 bins for the deposit of dog waste, with owners being encouraged to clean up after their pets There are staff on patrol to ensure owners act responsibly by clearing up after their pets. Checks will be made to monitor animals are correctly micro chipped and have up to date immunisation. In addition, the beach will be cleaned daily, and will receive a thorough monthly inspection and 'deep clean' to maintain standards of cleanliness and to protect public health.
