No-quarantine on amber flights opens door for home buyers

This month we've certainly been busier and since the 19th July we have seen an increase in the amount of enquiries we have received along with people in the area now looking to buy!

As reported by Rightmove, since this date UK residents who are fully vaccinated are now permitted to travel between England and any country on the green or amber list, without the need to quarantine upon return to England.

Over 37.7 million¹ UK residents are now fully vaccinated (71.4% of the country's adult population) including 94% of those aged 55 or over² – the key overseas property buying audience.

Throughout 2020 we saw record breaking activity on Rightmove Overseas. But with travel restrictions in place many buyers were holding back on their dream until they could attend a viewing trip. In our 2020 survey, we found that half of UK buyers looking for an overseas property expect to complete within 6 months of travel restrictions lifting, meaning they'll be looking to act fast now that's possible.

Since the changes to international travel restrictions were announced just three weeks ago, we've already seen a 13% increase in buyer leads⁴, despite some popular countries still being on the UK's red travel list.
