Torrevieja May Fair

Preparations for Torrevieja's annual Sevillanas May Fair celebrations are well under way. At 9pm on the 4th of May the switching on of the fairground lights and the lighting up of the skies by an impressive firework display will signal the opening of this hugely popular event which,is held each May in the port area of the city. The event will continue until Sunday the 8th of May. Each year thousands of spectators come to enjoy the sights ,sounds, colour and cuisine of this spectacular event.Over the 4 days there are performances by several musical groups, and dance schools, horse-riding exhibitions. horse and carriages parades, sevillanas dancing, spectacularly colourful Andalusian costumed maidens,paraded on horseback, traditional Spanish food, Freshly roasted meats cooked over embers all washed down by a veritable lake of Spanish wines !!
